Student can begin making tutoring appointments and workshop reservations online on Thursday June 20th. If you need to make a tutoring appointment or need to reserve a seat for a workshop before June 20th, go to the Writing Center's front desk for assistance.

For the first week of Summer, the Writing Center will be open from 8am to 8pm. However, the Writing Center's hours will be extended the following weeks to 7am to 9pm.

Friday 5/31/13 is the last day we are open for Spring 13.

The Writing Center offers on-going workshops, which are small-group discussions that focus on a particular topic such as thesis development, essay outlining, close reading of texts, and MLA formatting. Other workshops focus on grammar issues like comma splices, run-on sentences, and fragments. Workshops rotate throughout the semester. If a student cannot attend a specific workshop due to a scheduling conflict, that workshop is likely to be offered again at a different time and date. The length of a workshop is fifty-five minutes or ninety minutes.

Because of an increased demand for writing workshops, the Conversation Lab workshop that starts at 2:00pm on May 23rd has been changed into a Developing a Thesis Workshop.

Students may sign up for this workshop at the Writing Center in person. Online reservations for this workshop are not available.

Because of an emergency on 5-16-13, the Writing Center was forced to close, resulting in the cancellation of all appointments that day. However, all students who had their appointment cancelled this day will have waiting list priority on Friday 5-17-13 and 5-18-13. After these two days, all students will be placed on the Writing Center's general waiting list
